About MBN
Connecting the Middle East and United States through original, relevant journalism
Middle East Broadcasting Networks (MBN) reaches Middle Eastern audiences with a distinctly American voice. We find, nurture and promote trusted Arabic voices, while serving as a counterweight to disinformation pushed by Iran, China and Russia in the Middle East and North Africa. We provide a free and robust platform for debates and perspectives with new, data-driven products unique to the industry. MBN’s principal brand is Alhurra, available at alhurra.com in both Arabic and English.
Our mission
To be the premier Arabic-first language source of news, commentary and information that connects the Middle East and the United States.
Editorial standards
We provide excellent journalism, exceptional commentary, and noteworthy voices, reflecting the best of American values. Alhurra.com is digital first; our compelling journalism uses short videos, newsletters, podcasts, data trackers and social media. The result is a two-way conversation that creates a relationship with readers, focusing on “behind the news” perspectives. We also provide a deep understanding of the U.S. and its policies, while also reporting from Israel and across the region as no Arab channel can.

How we’re funded
MBN is a non-profit corporation funded by an annual grant from the U.S. Agency for Global Media. We are Congressionally-mandated and taxpayer-supported. U.S. government funding does not mean U.S. government editorial control. The editorial firewall protecting our journalism from political interference is enshrined in U.S. law and respected in practice.
